1. The Founder's Problem

Social media engagement requires thoughtful comments, but staring at a blank reply box kills momentum. Generic AI tools produce robotic responses that don't match your voice or the platform's conventions. Manual commenting doesn't scale.

2. Why Traditional Solutions Failed

  • Generic AI (ChatGPT, Claude) produces comments that sound fake and templated
  • No tool understands platform-specific conventions (LinkedIn vs Reddit tone)
  • Manual commenting takes too long when engaging with 10+ posts daily

3. What We Built

  • Generate comments from pasted text, URL (as reference), or uploaded image
  • 8 tone styles: Professional, Casual, Witty, Supportive, Bold, Educational, Insightful, Authoritative
  • Platform-aware output: LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, Blog/Website
  • 9 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese
  • Up to 5 comment variations per generation (3 on free tier)
  • Bulk generation for up to 5 posts at once
  • Comment queue with scheduling and reusable templates
  • Public share links for generated comment sets

4. The Process

WEEK 1

AI prompt engineering for 8 tones × 6 platforms (4 days), Database schema (2 days), Auth (1 day)

WEEK 2

Comment generation UI (3 days), Bulk generation logic (2 days), Template system (2 days)

WEEK 3

Queue + scheduling (2 days), Share links (1 day), Usage stats dashboard (2 days), Deploy (1 day)

code

React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Supabase, Groq AI

6. Tech Stack & Why

React 18 + Vite

Fast dev experience, perfect for interactive UI

Groq Llama 3.3 70B

Fast, cheap, and good enough for comment generation

Supabase

Auth, database, and edge functions in one platform

Framer Motion

Smooth animations for comment variations

7. What We Cut to Ship Fast

  • Browser extension (web app covers core use case)
  • Sentiment analysis (tone selection is sufficient)
  • Auto-posting to platforms (legal/API complexity too high for MVP)

8. Lessons Learned

  • Tone consistency across platforms is hard. Each platform has unwritten rules.
  • Users want variations, not perfection. 5 options > 1 perfect comment.
  • Image-to-comment is underused but loved by the few who try it.
